Author's Notes: Disclaimer: All publicly recognizable characters, settings, etc. are the property of their respective owners. The original characters and plot are the property of the author. The author is in no way associated with the owners, creators, or producers of any media franchise. No copyright infringement is intended. Kinda sorta-ish loosely based on the song Blue by A Perfect circle. Not based on the actual meaning of the song, which if I’m correct is about his girlfriend’s drug addiction.
Chapter 1: Didn’t Want to Know Angela was the last to get her things settled into her room. Everyone had been invited to Michael, her ex-husband’s, wedding. It was weird for her to see him getting married again, but she was glad that he was officially out of her life. She grabbed her sunglasses off the table where she had set them, along with a few of her papers that she had brought along and went out to go join everyone else on the beach. That seemed to be the only plus side for her, the fact that this was just more of a vacation rather than a wedding. “Hey there.” Angela internally cringed. A few floors before her stop, Michael had gotten onto the elevator. He had his fiancée on his arm. “Hello,” she forced. Anytime she saw him now, she got tense. The grudge that she had been holding against him was still there. “Did Jonathon tell you that I chose him as my best man?” Michael asked. “Yes, yes he did. It was all he could talk about on the way here,” Angela said. She was happy that he did decide to include Jonathon in the wedding. The elevator finally got to the bottom floor and Angela walked out as calmly as she could. Michael left his fiancée, Melissa at the door. “You can go ahead, I’ll meet you in a few,” he told her. Melissa hesitated as she looked over at Angela. “Alright,” she said turning her attention back to him. “Just don’t take too long.” Michael reassured her that he wouldn’t and then went to catch up to Angela. “Hey! Wait up! I wanna talk to you!” Angela stopped. Right when she had thought that she had actually gotten away from him. “What is it?” she asked as she slowly turned to face him. She wanted to get this over with as soon as she could. “About Jonathon,” Michael said as he stood before her. “Oh?” Angela asked. The look upon Michael’s face started to make her wonder. He looked as if he might regret what he was about to tell her. “Yeah.” He took his hand and began to scratch the back of his head as he gathered his words. He knew he had caught her attention and was now just hoping that she could understand what he was about to tell her. “He really is a good kid, and I do want to spend more time with him.” Angela sighed. “No one ever said that you couldn’t.” For some reason, she felt as if he were about to start blaming her for not seeing him that often. At any moment, she was ready to go on the defensive and question his walking out on them. “Well, now I’m ready to finally settle down,” Michael said. “I’ll have more time to spend with him.” He was trying to find the easiest way to build up to what he really wanted to tell her. “I think I’ve heard that before,” Angela responded. “Yeah well, now I mean it. I want to try and correct a few things that I’ve screwed up over the years,” he said. He paused for a second. “I want custody of Jonathon.” Angela stared to him for a minute. “Michael, do you even know what you are saying?” Angela shook her head. “You’re asking me to give up my son so that you spend what? A week? If that with him before you decide to leave again.” There was no way that she could take any of this seriously. “You were the one that left, not me,” she said and then turned to walk away. “I’ll fight you for him,” Michael said. “Go for it!” Angela said without even turning back to face him.
Chapter End Notes: Just a start. I hope you enjoyed it. Please review, and remember, I am open to suggestions.
