Chapter One: Tony’s True Feelings Tony stood and whistled at the stove as he prepared dinner. As happy and content as he might have sounded, it was all a cover up. Mona had taken Sam and Jonathan out camping for the week, which meant that Angela and Tony were alone, well, it was supposed to mean that. It had only been one day since every one had left, and already Angela had brought home this man named Tom Collins. The jealousy was eating away at him, but he couldn’t do anything about it. All he could do was stand there and act happy as he heard the two laugh out there. “Oh my God!” he heard Angela squeal. She sounded like an excited school girl. Soon enough, she burst through the kitchen door. “Tony!” she yelled with excitement. Tony quickly turned and made sure that he kept a genuine smile on his face. After all, this was his best friend trying to tell him what she thought was the best news in the world. “What?” he asked as his eyes lit up. Angela ran over to him and held out her hand. “Look!” she announced showing him the ring on her finger. “Angela! I can’t believe it! You’re getting married!” he happily announced and then hugged her. “Thank you Tony,” she said as she pulled away. He could see the tears of joy that had swelled up in her eyes. “I hope you don’t mind,” she said and then wiped her eyes. “But Tom wants to take me out tonight. We’re going to go have dinner and then maybe go down to the park or something,” she said. “Of course not,” he said grabbing her shoulders. “Now you and the future groom go celebrate!” “Thanks again Tony,” she said and then left. Tony’s expression completely fell as he watched her leave the room. All he could do was stare with a deep longing. She was getting married. Angela Bower, was getting married. His boss who had become like a mother to his daughter, and the best friend that he had ever had, even more then that. Seeing that ring on her finger had deeply hurt him. It felt like some one had just kicked him in the stomach, and then had decided to go back for more once he was down on the ground, but he couldn’t show that. He loved nothing more then to see her happy. He wanted her to enjoy herself and to be happy. He always looked forward to hearing her laugh, but was always more then willing to led her a shoulder to cry on. Tony sighed and sat down at the table. He hated seeing her marry some one else, but if it made her happy, he would support her. “I just wish I could make her happy,” he said to himself.
