A sequel to Fairfield or Baseball Field? That is the Question...

High-strung advertising executive Angela Bower needs a housekeeper, and assistance raising her young son, Jonathan. Macho former athlete Tony Micelli has just moved to Fairfield, Connecticut, from Brooklyn, New York to provide a better life for his pre-teen daughter, Samantha. Angela is reluctant to hire him at first, but her fun-loving mother Mona talks her into hiring him. Despite a rocky start, Tony soon finds a permanent home with Angela.

Tony is moonlighting to raise extra money, which Mona believes is to take care of a secret girlfriend in Brooklyn. Soon the truth comes out: Tony is still paying rent on his recently deceased father's apartment, so that he and Sam will have a place to go just in case things don't work out in Connecticut.

Tony and his study group are cramming for exams. After everyone goes home except for Kathleen, she and Tony sleep together. He feels somewhat guilty, particularly when he tells Angela about it. Angela and Tony assess their relationship and decide that they don't know exactly where it is going, but that it is best if they let it run its course.

Tony misses an opportunity to ask Angela to the final dance at the Starlight Ballroom. They each arrive at the dance with dates, but end up embroiled in a story of a couple who met at a USO dance held there in 1941. Their story parallels Tony and Angela's but in a much speedier version.

A local news reporter, Bobbi Barnes, wants to do a story on the daily life of Angela. But when a series of innocent mix-ups leads Tony and Angela to wake up in the same bed, Bobbi's camera crew is waiting in the hall to capture the scene. Bobbi thinks she has a juicy story for her show, but Mona has other ideas.

Angela is ready to profess her love for Tony, but her hopes for a romantic anniversary night with him are dashed when he invites her and the whole family to a carnival. A fortune teller tells Tony that he is about to lose the love of his life, but he misses the point. A ride through the Tunnel of Love changes their relationship.

Angela comes home from a rowdy birthday party, just as Tony returns home from a police-sponsored demonstration of the effects of alcohol on the mind. Both are in a woozy state, and they end up kissing.

The family visit Jonathan's summer camp when his counselor calls Angela to say he is homesick. While there, Angela and Tony realize they both attended camp in the same area many years earlier. Their individual stories of their first kiss seem to coincide, and they soon suspect they may have met each other a long time ago.
24. It Happened One Summer II by folle [Reviews - 17]
After visiting the site in the woods where each remembers from their past, a thunderstorm prevents Tony and Angela from returning to the campsite in time. They end up having to share a room at a cheap hotel. Meanwhile, Mona and the campers tell scary stories and play pranks on the counselor.
40. When Worlds Collide by jathlon [Reviews - 13]
Tony's poker game has run late, and Angela hurries him to clean up the house in time for her friend who will soon be arriving. Just as his last guest (a raucous Brooklynite) is ready to leave, Angela's friend (a quiet, straight-laced woman) arrives, and the two end up as an item.

Angela had planned a special dinner for five, in honor of Tony and Samantha's two-year anniversary in Connecticut, but Tony is the only one who doesn't have other plans. During the meal, Tony falls ill and is rushed to the hospital in need of surgery. After he has been given sedatives, but just before he falls asleep, he says "I love you" to Angela.
60. The Way We Was by folle [Reviews - 6]
On a snowy day, the family reminisce about their situations before coming together. Tony makes the decision to leave Brooklyn after he feels Samantha has been involved in too many fights. Angela is dissatisfied with her current housekeeper, and wants to find a new one. Tony meets Mona, who assures him she will get the job.

Geoffrey and Angela go away for the weekend to a mountain cabin, where Angela is sure he is going to pop the question. She is quite disappointed when he doesn't. When he learns what she was expecting, he does propose to her, but she cannot give him an immediate answer.
